Hine Development Teams Present Proposals to the Capitol Hill Business Community

Hill’s Kitchen was alive at 8:30 Wednesday morning with the community forum for business and commercial property owners to review Hine Junior High development proposals. Each team gave summarized presentations as well as participated in a question and answer period that focused on how each proposal will effect the business community on Capitol Hill.

A shared concern among the forum attendees was parking accessibility on the site and surrounding streets, as well as the kind of opportunities each group was going to provide the existing business community. While each team’s plans are unique, they all include intent to expand parking options and work to enable, not disable, existing businesses.

Each group also committed, if chosen, to work closely with the Capitol Hill business community and organizations such as CHAMPS, the Capitol Hill BID and Barracks Row Main Street.

The public comment period ends close of business Friday, July 10. You can access each teams proposals by clicking each link: Seven Penn Partners, The National Leadership Campus, Stanton-EastBanc, and Street Sense.

The next phase will be Best And Final Offer submissions to be reviewed by the Deputy Mayor’s Office for Planning and Economic Development.
