Union Station — One Of the “Top 10 Great Spaces”

Mayor Adrian Fenty, Harriet Tregoning, director of the Office of Planning, and other city officials, were on hand at Columbus Circle on October 6th when the The American Planning Association named Union Station one of America’s “Top 10 Great Spaces.”

The iconic transportation hub, which celebrated its centennial this month, was selected for its contribution to promoting tourism and culture and for serving as an historic gateway to our nation’s capital.

Since its $70 million renovation in 1988, Union Station has become a home to Amtrak, WMATA and MARC, as well as dozens of shops, and boasts an eclectic array of dining and entertaining options.
