Sustainable Suggestion: Fragers is Now Collecting Your Expired CFLs

Fragers, in cooperation with the office of Councilmember Tommy Wells and the Capitol Hill BID, will now be collecting your expired, unbroken compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL).
CFLs last longer and are better for the environment, and as many businesses and residents across the country already know, they save money in the long run in electric bills.
But just like regular bulbs, CFLs still contain trace amounts of mercury and must be properly handled and recycled at the end of their life.

The Fragers CFL drop-off will make it easier and more convenient for Hill businesses and residents to properly dispose of and recycle their expired CFLs. Contributing to Capitol Hill’s commitment to sustainability and responsibility, Fragers also also recycles rechargeable batteries and thermostats.
