New Circulator Route Celebrated at Capitol Hills Matchbox Restaurant

City officials, business leaders, and community dignitaries gathered Wednesday, April 1, to celebrate the launch of two new Circulator Routes:

Union Station – Navy Yard Metro
Weekdays 6am – 7pm
*Extended service on Nationals’ games days

Woodley Park – Adams Morgan – McPherson Square Metro
Sun – Thurs 7am – Midnight
Friday – Saturday 7am – 3:30am

The event started with a press conference at the Adams Morgan Plaza with remarks by Mayor Fenty. “We are extremely proud to announce these new routes,” said the Mayor. “The Circulator is truly one of the nation’s most successful mass transit stories. Now, more of our residents, workers and visitors will be able to traverse our city in an inexpensive and efficient manner.”

Then Mayor Fenty, Councilman Jim Graham, and DDOT Acting Director Gabe Klein invited the press and attendees to join them on a ride aboard the bright red buses where they headed up-hill to Barracks Row Main Street, where Councilman Tommy Wells awaited their arrival at the new Matchbox Vintage Pizza Bistro location.

After a few remarks from Mayor Fenty and Gabe Klein, the crowd enjoyed an amazing spread provided by Matchbox. The reception was hosted by both Capitol Hill and Capitol Riverfront Business Improvement Districts.

Thank you to DDOT, DCST, Publicity Matters, the hard working Matchbox staff, Screech, and all those who attended the Launch to help welcome the new Circulators to Captiol Hill!
