Daffodils on the Hill! – Send Us Your Pictures of Spring on the Hill!

Some of the first signs of spring can be found in the tree boxes throughout Capitol Hill.
Ten thousand Daffodils planted by the Ready, Willing & Working landscapers last fall are making a great first showing. Last month the crew mulched and cut back liriope in the tree boxes to help in the re-growth process.

In further beautification news, the beautification committee has decided to test perennial flowers and ivy in some of the hardest to plant tree boxes on 7th Street between Pennsylvania and N. Carolina and around Stanton Park. Rudbeckia (or black eyed Susan) was chosen for hardiness and color. If successful, the remaining tree boxes in the BID will be planted with the perennials.
