Safety Ambassadors patrol the BID’s 81 blocks by foot and bicycle everyday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Uniformed in royal blue and gold, they provide pedestrian and visitor information, merchant visits, vehicular assistance, homeless outreach and act as extra eyes and ears for the police department.
Each Ambassador receives 120 hours of training in public safety and crime prevention, First AID/CPR and AED certifications, customer service, conflict resolution, homeless outreach, DC services as well as Capitol Hill history, attractions and events. If you need to find out what’s on display at the Folger Shakespeare Library or if you are looking for a certain hotspot, ask one of our roving Ambassadors!
The Capitol Hill BID Safety Ambassador Team is currently fully staffed but will accept applications.
